Dr. Cox's Biographical Sketch

Linda S. Cox, M.D.



Dr. Cox is a private practitioner at Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, and assistant clinical professor of medicine at Nova Southeastern University Osteopathic College of Medicine.

She has been a member of the  Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters since 2006. She was the chief editor of the Allergen Immunotherapy Practice Parameter Second Update published in 2007

She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) Board of Directors (2007-2011) and chair of the AAAAI’s Practice and Policy Division.

 She chairs the AAAAI and ACAAI Immunotherapy & Allergy Diagnostics Committee and the ACAAI/AAAAI Specific IgE Task Force (SETaF). She is co-chair of the ACAAI/AAAAI Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) Joint Task Force and was ad hoc chair and lead author of the SLIT literature review published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Dr. Cox is on the editorial board of  the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunologyand Allergy and Asthma Proceedings

 

She is past president of the Florida Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society, 2001-2002, and past president of the Broward County Medical Association, 2003-04 and current chair of the organization’s Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the Florida Medical Associations Board of Governors (2008-2010). She is president of the Broward chapter of the Broward Palm Beach Allergy Society.

She was awarded the ACAAI 2007 Distinguished Service Award   and the ACAAI’s 2008 Woman in Allergy award.

Dr. Cox received her medical degree from Northeastern University and subsequently completed a residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the National Jewish Center in Denver, Colorado.
